An Introduction to Japanese Calligraphy

Japanese calligraphy, or shodō, is a calming and expressive art that connects focus, balance and creativity. In this 90‑minute workshop, you will learn how to use traditional tools, practise basic brush strokes and explore the structure of simple kanji characters. With guided steps, you will create your own small piece of calligraphy to take home. No experience or Japanese language knowledge is required, and all materials are provided.
